Mazatlán International Carnaval is a celebration that fulfills dreams. In the 2025 edition “La Perla”, the royal court couturier Luis Antonio Ríos González has been selected to make the outfits of the male royalty, as well as the dresses of the Children’s Queen and the Queen of Poetry, a wish that is fulfilled for the first time in his career.
With a five-year career as a royal couturier, “Momo” declares himself ready to create wonderful confections for each procession, inspired by the underwater world and the pearl as the protagonist. Mazatlán will be the “Pearl of the Crown”, the most precious jewel of the Pacific Ocean.
The Children’s Queen will wear a crown with details that will make her look like a mermaid, with special accessories that will make her unique.
The Queen of Poetry will wear a very colorful and traditional special crown, which will highlight her hierarchy.
The outfits will be made with shantung-type fabrics, beads, pearls, sequins, crystals and reliefs, with fantasy in golden, blue and green tones.
“This year I am going to surprise them because I will make different things, the hierarchy of each outfit will be noticeable and the king’s crown will be spectacular, he will wear a surprising jacket,” says the designer.
The Inspiration of “Momo”
When designing and making the royal outfits, Momo was inspired by the underwater world, where the pearl is the protagonist.
“I want to show the richness and beauty of Mazatlán, the Pearl of the Crown,” he explained.
