In the celebration of the centenary of the Floral Games, music took center stage with the presence of the legendary Tenor Plácido Domingo, who captivated the audience with his unmatched voice and at the end of the concert the public gave him a standing ovation.

The Mazatlán Symphony Orchestra and the Guillermo Sarabia Choir joined together in this musical journey that began with the best of opera, followed by romantic themes that ranged from Pedro Infante to Gloria Estefan with the formidable participation of the Guillermo Sarabia Choir.

During his performance in Mazatlán, maestro Plácido interpreted classics such as “Sabor a mí” and “Granada”, opera, zarzuela and even sang José Alfredo Jiménez’s songs with a mariachi accompanied by a colossal choir scattered throughout the field and in the stadium stands.

A special moment was when he shared the stage with his son, Plácido Domingo Jr., to sing a duet of Armando Manzanero’s “Adoro.”

Soprano Eugenia Garza and baritone from Mazatlán, José Adán Pérez, brought the beauty of their voices to this luminous and nostalgic night, a journey through the glorious past of the Floral Games.

The show was a tribute to beauty, poetry and music, a meeting between the past and the present that left an indelible mark on the history of the Floral Games of Mazatlán. The presence of Plácido Domingo, a world-class music icon, further enhanced the brilliance of this centennial celebration, which culminated with regional songs such as El corrido de Mazatlán and El Sinaloense.
