If the Carnaval worked, it was thanks to the coordination between the government institutions of the three levels, but above all to the enthusiastic participation of the citizens, of the visitors, and thanks to that spirit of joy that shows what we Mazatlan residents are made of, declared Raúl Rico González, General Director of the Instituto Municipal de Culture, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán.
In turn, the President of the Association of Hotels and Motels “Tres islas”, José Ramón Manguart Sánchez, highlighted that tourism entrepreneurs always saw Carnaval Mazatlan 2025 as an event that would mark a before and after, and this was fulfilled.
“We know that from today on, there will be a different inertia, that the confidence of the Mazatlecans to enjoy their city and of the visitors to come to the destination will be regained, that was seen tangibly this weekend, it is the best result we can have,” stressed Manguart Sánchez.
At the press conference called and chaired by the Mayor of Mazatlán, Estrella Palacios Domínguez to announce the results of the Mazatlán International Carnaval 2025 “La Perla”, Rico González highlighted that the numbers of the biggest party demonstrate the spirit and the capacity of the Mazatlecans to overcome adversities and celebrate their traditions.
Figures that reflect the magnitude of the Mazatlan International Carnaval:
The edition of “La Perla” had 33 official events and apart from the records of artists and attendance at the coronations, the naval combat and public in the parades, in the latter, 32 floats participated, 19 comparsas with a total of 900 participants, 100 people in the comparsa of senior citizens, 1,500 people in the contingent of each parade, 20 horses, 37 sponsors, 60 vehicles in the commercial advance, 12 stages and 23 musical groups in Olas Altas, and 1 DJ, specified the General Director of Cultura.
Beyond the numbers, the legacy of Carnaval is the opportunity to experience together, to feel free and to reaffirm the Mazatlan identity, emphasized the municipal official.
Hotel occupancy
During the days of Carnaval “we were at levels of 86% occupancy. The challenge was not easy but it has been met, we are very grateful, my respect and admiration for the security forces, and the municipal authorities, I believe that the right decisions were made, we place our trust in you and we want to recognize this work,” concluded the hotel leader.
