The Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan, through the Municipal Arts Center and the Mazatlán Public Libraries, invites parents to register their children for the Summer Workshop, which will be held at the Marco Antonio Domínguez Lerma Library, located in the Villa Unión Plaza.
The activities are part of the “My Vacation at the Library” program, designed for children ages 7 to 12, and will take place from Monday, July 7th to Friday, July 11th, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Librarian Selene Parada Valdivia will lead the fun event.
The workshop will offer a variety of recreational and educational activities focused on the comprehensive development of participants:
– Cinema with Values: Selected films will be screened to foster empathy and reflection on essential values.
– Storytelling: A love of reading and imagination will be fostered through storytelling sessions.
– Crafts and Mandala Drawing: Activities that will develop manual dexterity and concentration.
– Games and Physical Activities: Activities that will promote movement, social interaction, and teamwork, including the “Find Your Best Friend” activity.
Participation in these types of workshops is crucial for children’s physical, emotional, and mental health. In a context where screen use is increasingly common, the summer workshop offers a healthy alternative by disconnecting children from digital devices, encouraging a more active lifestyle.
It also seeks to stimulate creativity and imagination through artistic and literary activities and reinforce fundamental values for their personal development.
Capacity is limited to 20 children, so those interested are encouraged to register as soon as possible at the Marco Antonio Domínguez Lerma Library.
