-Registration deadline: October 2, 2026

The Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art (CULTURA) has formally opened the call for entries to select the Children’s Queen and the Queen of Poetry for the 2027 Mazatlán International Carnival—a competition open to girls aged 6 to 12.

Applications will be accepted at the Institute of Culture offices (Av. Miguel Alemán 203, Col. Centro) Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The deadline for submission is Friday, October 2, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

Requirements and Participant Registration

Candidates must be at least 6 years old at the time of registration and no older than 12 on the day of the election. They must be natives of Mazatlán or prove at least three years of continuous residence in the municipality (or be the daughter of a parent born in Mazatlán with three years of verifiable residence).

The selection of the children’s royalty will be determined by a voting system based on financial contributions (one peso equals one vote). Each candidate must contribute a minimum total of 120,000 votes, divided into two installments:

– First Count: Minimum of 60,000 votes on November 26, 2026.

– Final Count: Minimum of the remaining 60,000 votes on January 14, 2027, at Plazuela República.

Declaration of Winners

The candidate who gathers the highest number of votes will be proclaimed the 2027 Carnival Children’s Queen; the runner-up will assume the title of Queen of Poetry; and the third-place participant will be named Royal Princess. The results will be certified by a public notary and will be final and not subject to appeal.
