The elegance of ballet, the power of live music, and an innovative choreographic approach will come together in “From Classical to Neoclassical,” a show scheduled for performances on September 5 and 11, 2026, at 7:00 PM at Casa Haas.

The production brings together the Classical Ballet Company of the Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art and the Adagio Trio for an intimate experience, allowing the audience to witness the dancers’ performances up close and feel the live music.

Maestro Víctor Osuna explained that the project stemmed from a desire to create a unique concept in which music and dance engage in a dialogue on stage. The program will journey through iconic excerpts from the classical repertoire—such as the ballet *Coppélia* and the *Méditation* from *Thaïs*—before moving toward a neoclassical vision with new choreography inspired by Astor Piazzolla’s *Las cuatro estaciones porteñas* (The Four Seasons of Buenos Aires).

A major highlight will be this specific piece based on the Argentine composer’s work, as—according to Osuna—it represents a choreographic approach rarely explored in Mexico. The shifts in rhythm and tempo within a single piece will generate excitement and intensity for the audience while simultaneously posing a significant technical challenge for the dancers.

“You can go from something very fast to something slower within the same piece. For us as musicians, that creates a lot of excitement and intensity, but it has also been a challenge for the dancers,” he noted.

The music will be performed by the Adagio Trio, featuring Maestro Juan Pablo García (piano), Citlali Cisneros (cello), and Víctor Osuna (violin). Nine members of the Classical Ballet Company will also take the stage, bringing the total number of artists to twelve. The violinist highlighted that the integration between musicians and dancers occurred naturally, thanks to the camaraderie and professional closeness shared by the participants. This collaboration ensures that the music functions not merely as accompaniment, but as a living presence that breathes, shifts, and intertwines with every movement.

Casa Haas will lend a special atmosphere to the production: the intimate proximity to the performers will allow the audience to hear every nuance of the instruments, observe the details of the dance, and experience the show’s emotions up close.

General admission tickets cost 250 pesos and are available at the Ángela Peralta Theater box office, open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
