-On Sunday, August 30, the iconic venue will host the national contest’s semifinal; authorities are finalizing security, traffic, and logistics plans.

To coordinate operational, security, and logistical measures for the semifinal of the national contest “México Canta por la Paz y contra las Adicciones 2026” (Mexico Sings for Peace and Against Addiction 2026), a working meeting was held this Tuesday. The meeting was led by the Interim Mayor of Mazatlán, Minerva Osuna Zavala, and the General Director of the Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art, Oscar García Osuna.

The contest will take place at the iconic Ángela Peralta Theater on Sunday, August 30, at 6:00 PM.

During the meeting, the Mayor expressed her gratitude to the directors of various Mazatlán government departments, as well as to federal and state security agencies, for their ongoing efforts to ensure the necessary conditions for this important event to take place in the city.

“I thank all the forces supporting us—the federal government and local agencies. We review security strategies daily. As public servants, we must be fully committed, supporting every detail so that events of this significance succeed for the benefit of the municipality,” stated Minerva Osuna.

Meanwhile, the General Director of the Institute of Culture, Oscar García Osuna, presented the operational plan and detailed the agreements and commitments made by each participating department. These included the Secretariat of the Navy, the National Guard, the Secretariat of National Defense, Civil Protection, Public Services, the Secretariat of Public Security, Traffic and Transportation, Public Lighting, JUMAPAM (Municipal Water and Sewerage Board), CFE (Federal Electricity Commission), and the Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (Oficialía Mayor), among others. In this way, the Government of Mazatlán and the participating institutions are finalizing the last details to ensure the successful staging of the “México Canta por la Paz y contra las Adicciones 2026” (Mexico Sings for Peace and Against Addiction 2026) semifinal, which will bring together musical talent and a message of peace at one of Mazatlán’s most iconic venues.
