Some people feel the urge from a young age to tell stories, portray characters, speak before an audience, evoke emotions, or simply discover what happens when the lights go up and a performance begins. For them, the Mazatlán Municipal Center for the Arts (CMA) is accepting registrations for two training options: the Theater Workshop and the Technical Program in Theater Arts. The next audition will be held on Wednesday, August 26, at 10:00 a.m.
You do not need to have stepped onto a stage before. Sometimes a calling begins with a simple spark of interest: enjoying reading aloud, imagining characters, having a knack for self-expression, feeling curious about film and theater, wanting to overcome shyness, or experiencing that hard-to-explain sensation of becoming someone else for a few moments in front of an audience.
For those wishing to explore the performing arts, discover their capabilities, and develop tools for expression, the CMA offers the Theater Workshop. It is open to anyone aged 15 and older, and no prior experience is required.
For those who already view theater as a path for academic and professional growth, the CMA also offers the Technical Program in Theater Arts. This course of study focuses on acquiring fundamental knowledge and skills in the discipline, opening doors to future careers in fields such as teaching, cultural promotion, or theater production.
This program spans six semesters, is accredited by SEPyC, and classes are held Monday through Friday. Admission requirements include being at least 15 years old and having completed secondary school (or an equivalent level of education).
