Performing before thousands of attendees on the night of the *Grito de Independencia* (Cry of Independence) in Mazatlán marked the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for Carolina García Nieto—an opportunity granted by the Mazatlán Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism, and Art following her outstanding audition for “Día de la Música 2026.”

Enthusiastic and satisfied with her performance, the singer captivated the audience with an emotional repertoire of regional Mexican music, highlighting classic songs such as “Basurita” and “No me queda más,” which the crowd sang along to in unison.

“Yes, it’s a dream come true; I’ve always wanted this. I chose the repertoire myself—songs that are part of my everyday life and played in my home. They are songs I love and that fit the event perfectly, and vocally, I feel very comfortable,” the singer explained.

After stepping off the stage amidst a standing ovation, García Nieto reaffirmed her willingness to continue collaborating with Cultura Mazatlán on future artistic projects.

Although she works professionally as a teacher, “Caro” maintains a strong passion for culture and the arts. Her upcoming plans include enrolling in the Municipal Center for the Arts (CMA) to refine her vocal technique and learn to play musical instruments.
