With a strong international profile and a distinguished track record in performing arts education, the Mazatlán Professional Dance School (EPDM)—part of the Municipal Center for the Arts (CMA)—is cementing its status as one of the region’s most influential institutions by welcoming talented students from Chile, Panama, and various Mexican states.
Its cutting-edge academic program and excellent faculty have made the EPDM a national and international benchmark, inspiring young people to leave their hometowns to pursue the dream of professional training and a career in contemporary dance.

The new cohort includes students from states such as San Luis Potosí, State of Mexico, Jalisco, Morelos (Cuernavaca), Veracruz, Guanajuato, Michoacán, and Querétaro, as well as young people from Chile and Panama who found the EPDM to be the ideal school to take their artistic skills to the highest level.
Personal Stories:
Génesis Gallardo (La Unión, Chile): She decided to join the EPDM, drawn by a curriculum that fosters the dancer’s holistic development. Gallardo discovered the institution through social media while following the career of a graduate:
“I thought she was a dancer in Europe, and my initial goal was Spain. When I saw a post where she tagged her school, I discovered it wasn’t in Europe, but rather a prominent Mexican institution,” she shared.
Among the institution’s key attractions, the student highlighted the training in artistic development, creativity, the dancer’s physicality, multimedia, and technical aspects—skills useful for both performance and choreographic creation. Luis Mendoza (Panama): He came to the school on the recommendation of the director of his training program in Panama, who recognized that the EPDM offered the technical quality needed for his continued professional and cultural growth:
“My goal is to absorb as much information as possible and learn about the school’s culture and identity, so I can later share that knowledge with my fellow students,” he said.
Maikeilis Earle (Panama): Encouraged by her teacher to explore academies abroad, she chose the EPDM curriculum because it aligned perfectly with her personal goals. After completing her studies, she plans to open her own academy:
“One of my dreams is to open an academy in Brazil and teach both Panamanian and Mexican culture, showing the world everything one learns from international experiences,” she concluded.
