Vibrant concert offered by maestro Gordon Campbell on the second date of the XII Gordon Campbell Season, accompanied by the Mazatlán Camerata in the interpretation of great compositions by Ludwig van Beethoven, on a wonderful afternoon.

Before an Ángela Peralta Theater full of local audiences, tourists and residents of the foreign community, the concert allowed us to explore the little-known music of the German composer.

The program consisted of marches, minuet, dances, quintets, sextets, music that was very popular but are hardly known today.

True to his style of interacting with the public, Maestro Campbell gave details of each of the pieces performed in Spanish and English, achieving a special connection between artist and audience.

On this occasion the pieces performed were Zapfenstreich March in C major, Sextet for clarinets, bassoon and horns in E flat major Opus 71, 6 contradanzas, Congratulations Minuet, Septet for violin, viola, cello, bass, clarinet, bassoon and horn Opus twenty.

A surprise was the intervention of the maestro double bassist Max Torres who sang one of the marches, causing a sensation, an interpretation that earned him an intense ovation.

The Camerata Mazatlán is made up of internationally renowned musicians and teachers from the Superior School of Music of the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, it was inaugurated in 2006 and since its creation it has not stopped performing in important theaters and forums in Mexico, its mission is to promote and disseminate music and has an important role as an agent to raise awareness in the community through its events.

At the end, the audience gave an intense series of applause, recognizing the work of those who were on stage and interpreted beautiful melodies, and the author of the exquisite musical program, maestro Gordon Campbell.
