With the support of the City Council and the Tourism and Arts Culture Institute of Mazatlan, Delfos founded in 1998 the Professional School of Dance of Mazatlan of the School of Arts, an integrative and plural institution of first level, which offers the Bachelor in dance contemporary

In addition to having a complete curriculum with an interdisciplinary vision, the EPDM conducts an annual residency program through which courses have been given and created choreographies with important national and foreign artists and teachers from countries such as: Mexico, Italy , Venezuela, Spain, Canada, Colombia, Argentina, South Africa, Germany and the United States. He has also made artistic and academic exchanges with institutions such as the Winnipeg Contemporary Dancer’s School of Canada, Williams College, the University of Texas, Arizona State University and the University of South Florida in the United States among others.

EPDM has twice won the INBA-UAM National Dance Award and received 7 times the Culiacan Choreography Award “Héctor Chávez”. The INBA has awarded him three times the “Education for Art” scholarship, and in 2008 he was awarded the Raúl Flores Canelo Prize for his pedagogical contributions to the national dance, awarded by the International Dance Festival of San Luis “Lila López “.

One of the main purposes of the EPDM is to promote the creation of new dance companies and during the last years, the students of the school have created groups such as: Lux Boreal (Tijuana), Hunabkú (Chile), La Serpiente (Morelia),

360º + 1 (Mazatlán), Danza Joven de Sinaloa (Culiacán) and Laboratorio del Cuerpo (Mazatlán).

The school has become an indisputable reference of quality, academic and artistic level, becoming one of the most recognized dance centers in the country, and above all in a space full of life and short, medium and long term projections, which generates a constant expectation in the community.
