“We started as a hobby taking travel photos, but from one year to date we are very focused on this art. In front of the greats, it feels nice out of respect for the photographers that I recognize, like Giovani (Arrieta) and Thru Di’s Eyes Photograpy, I recognize his photography work and it feels good to be in this pavilion” said the artist.
Maesro Enrique Vega Ayala, Director of Planning of the Instituto de Cultura, welcomed all and in his message thanked those present for their participation in this contest; After recognizing the quality of the material contributed to the contest, the ribbon was cut and awards were presented to the exhibitors of the best photos and videos of the Day of the Dead callejoneada.
Giovani Arrieta, distinguished photographer of this exhibition, pointed out that in his work he wanted to highlight the magnitude of the party with shots of packed streets, reflecting that this event is one of the favorites of the inhabitants of Mazatlán.
“It is very satisfying to see that the work was recognized, that the organizers liked it and I hope the people did too. I sought to portray the magnitude of the event, the impressive nature of the catrina and, above all, the massive participation of the people,” exclaimed the renowned port photographer.
The exhibition will be mounted in the Calle Carnaval Corridor, 24 hours a day until November 30th.
