“Tiempos de amor” with the most sublime and dramatic ‘Pas de Deux’ of ballet will be presented this Friday, May 19th and Saturday, May 20th at 8:00 p.m. at the Ángela Peralta Theater with the performance of the Mazatlán Ballet Company under the direction of maestra and essayist Zoila Fernández Fernández.
The Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán presents in this Spring Season, famous “Pas de Deux” like the Onegin ballet, and “The Interceptions of the Heart” characterized by the music of Saint Saens.
‘Pas de Deux’ are dances executed by a ballerina and a dancer, they are characterized by steps, big jumps and elevations that accentuate the strength and masculinity of the man and the delicacy and lightness of the woman.
It will be two opening nights for the Mazatlán Ballet Company, since for the first time it will perform “Majísimo”, a Spanish dance with choreography by Jorge García, a dancer of the National Ballet of Cuba, teacher and choreographer who is now deceased but who left an important legacy for the world of dance
In Tiempos de amor, the Mazatlán Ballet Company will show its freshness and technical and artistic level, since since its foundation it has evolved by combining the classical, neoclassical and contemporary styles that govern today in all aspects of dance.
Right now the company no longer dances only the great classics of the 19th century, as it is doing different movements for the 21st century because we have to be in line with the century we are living in, said maestra Zoila Fernández.
