Great moments full of personal and collective stories and anecdotes offered by a select group of Sinaloan poets through the vintage poetic conversation, “Nosotros los de entonces, ya no somos los mismos” [we from then, are no longer the same], which gave continuity to the Literary Thursday program at Casa Haas.

The participation of Juan Esmerio Navarro, Julieta Montero, Marcela González, Humberto Trujillo, María Muñiz and Filiberto Cañedo, meant the reunion of those who years ago were part of the literary workshop “Inés Arredondo” taught by the maestro Nino Gallegos, from where they explored their sensitivity poetry and fostered his literary creativity, especially in the field of poetry.

After an encouraging start, Julieta Montero appreciated the opportunity to have this space during a bohemian afternoon, to read and listen to poetry and recalled her beginnings as a poet, and what life was like in those years where romance was in the air, which is why which read verses of his first poems.

During the conversation, memories were erected as the pillar of a collective identity built through poetry as a literary genre.

Among other moments, the participants remembered the cultural environment that existed in the Port before the restoration of the Ángela Peralta Theater, when the Mazatlán Aquarium was the venue for everything related to culture and fine arts wrapped in a sea of knowledge.

After a couple of hours of anecdotes, memories, and poetry, the participants received a diploma for their valuable participation and contribution to this cultural initiative.

The Literary Thursday program supported by the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán offers a weekly space for literature and music and has been the setting to pay tribute to prominent figures of the arts in Mazatlán.

Next Literary Thursday there will be a poetry recital with the group “Juglarías: la voz y canto del poeta”, the poetry of León Felipe will be addressed and the speakers will be Iliana Osuna, José Ramón Rojas Garzón, Javier Chimaldi, Roberto Loera, Roberto Carrillo and Maria Muniz.
