This Monday, personnel from seven municipal agencies established agreements and delegated public responsibilities to guarantee order and pedestrian and vehicular flow in Centro Historico during Dia de la Musica to be held on Saturday, June 10th.

The meeting convened by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura and held at the offices of this paramunicipal, was attended by representatives of the Directorate of Public Services, the Mayor’s Office, the Sub-directorate of Commerce, Civil Protection and the Secretariat of Public Safety and Municipal Transit.

At the meeting, the General Director of CULTURA, Raúl Rico González, spoke about the origin and purpose of Dia de la Musica and announced that four stages will be installed in the streets of Centro Historico.

The main stage will be on Heriberto Frías street, next to Plaza Machado; the Recuerdos stage will be located outside the Art Museum on Venustiano Carranza street and the Olas Altas stage between Constitución and Mariano Escobedo streets.

Rico González explained that the Rock & Fusion stage that was previously located in Olas Altas, next to the Venadito Monument, this year will be installed in Liverpool Alley so as not to block traffic so much.

Actions were also agreed so that pedestrian movement is fluid, to avoid traffic congestion and relocate vendors from semi-permanent stalls in Plazuela Machado in order to avoid crowds so that locals and tourists can appreciate the architectural beauty of the area in all its splendor.
