Colorful costumes, eye-catching opening nights, lighting changes, projection of video images and the joyous performance of more than 50 dancers on stage made the spectacular production of “Bodas de México”, possible, a success more from the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023.
Dancers from the CULTURA Folkloric Ballet, under the direction of maestro Javier Arcadia and the Youth Folkloric Ballet directed by maestro Erick Carrillo, took the audience into the festive world of traditional weddings of great significance for the inhabitants of some destinations in Mexico.
The production of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán showed the clothing, music and dance used in different types of traditional weddings that are part of the vast cultural wealth of Mexico, a staging that was highly enjoyable for the public that filled the Ángela Peralta Theater on last Sunday.
The audience witnessed the excitement generated by the marriage union in some states, and appreciated the effort and artistic performance of the dancers in bringing to the stage the syncretism that surrounds Mexican Weddings.
The show went through the ceremonies and dances of the state of Hidalgo, continued with Veracruz, Nayarit, Yucatán to end with the northern weddings of the state of Chihuahua.
Special guests Edgar Zatarain Apodaca, Humberto Pini Bernal, Carlos Guerrero Solís and Rafael Carrillo López, performed songs such as: Veracruz; Palmeras; Noche Criolla; Piel Canela; Granito de Sal; Peregrina y Quisiera.. For her part, Eli Carrillo was the master of ceremony during the show.
The presentation of the Cultura folklore dancers achieved a wide response from the public of all ages, from children to older adults who repeatedly applauded the cast in gratitude for their artistic quality and their dedication on stage.
