This is a show that seeks to bring new generations closer to opera: Mtro. Ragnar Count

MozArt, nominated in 2015 for the Lunas del Auditorio, is an opera-cabaret show that in a playful and fun way narrates the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart through four of his greatest works and has a pedagogical sense because it seeks to bring children and young people closer to opera, said maestro Ragnar Conde, stage director of this production that will open the curtain at the Ángela Peralta Theater this Friday, November 24th and Saturday, November 25th at 8 pm.

“It isn’t just a concert but rather an opera-cabaret because it is a different way of bringing opera to the new generations, which is why we have sought to give it a playful, fun and very ad hoc touch with the tone that Mozart used in his works” said Maestro Conde at a press conference held today at Casa Haas.

Present at the conference, the General Director of CULTURA, Raúl Rico González, thanked for having rescued one of the most emblematic figures of music and highlighted that the conjunction of efforts between public institutions and civil associations must occur to bring projects to the stage, like this multidisciplinary show.

In turn, Ragnar Conde added that the staging has a pedagogical meaning without losing the rebellious, fun, irreverent and very dynamic attitude. Therefore, the least that occurs to the audience is that they are talking about history or musical culture.

“It really is a very dynamic show for the training of new generations, it is also (a proposal) very colorful but not only for the public it is a pedagogical process, also for the singers, since from the beginning it was conceived as a kind of scenic laboratory where one could explore to what extent an opera singer could continue to exercise his vocal and musical art, but at the same time explore different performing options.”

Maestro Ragnar Conde recalled that many years ago there was the idea that the opera singer could only stand in the center (of the stage) listening to the music, interacting in a minimal way, he could not run while singing, he could not do many things, but in the last 20 years it has been proven and explored in different parts of the world that the opera singer can have many interactions on stage.

So for the team, this production has been an intensive workshop, a kind of scenic-vocal improvement diploma, where they have worked on research and understanding each of the operas, on body training and lately on editing.

When referring to the work of the brilliant composer, he expressed that Mozart really liked double meanings but he did everything in such an elegant, sophisticated way because he could be talking about the most vulgar things and in any case people celebrated and applauded him. .

“In this case we are highlighting the composer’s critical spirit, trying to narrate his life in broad strokes, because even though he only lived 35 years, his life was very intense and he was a genius in all aspects.” senses”.

In this proposal – presented in Mazatlán by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte y Escenia Ensamble – we are going to talk about his life and we are also going to narrate and support ourselves with four of his greatest operas: Flauta Mágica, Cosi Fan Tutte, Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro. The music will be provided by the Camerata Mazatlán under the baton of the Guest Conductor, maestro Sergio Freeman.

In 2015, MozArt was nominated by Las Lunas del Auditorio for best cultural show; is a show that has already been presented in several important theaters in the country and in various formats: with orchestra, with piano, it has been presented with small ensembles and in a reduced version for children and it has been traveling to different schools and colleges because it is a very playful way to bring children and young people closer to opera.

Ragnar Conde, member of Escenia Ensamble A. C. and creator of MozArt, was accompanied by Raúl Rico González, General Director of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán; by maestro Sergio Freeman and by singers: Fernanda Osuna, Laura Leyva, Rose Ferreiro, Mario Canela, Rodolfo Ituarte and José Miguel Lora, who make up the cast; each one will play around 7 different roles; The opera-cabaret show is designed for ages nine and up and is intended to introduce and teach part of the life and work of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
