Cecilia Sánchez Duarte

Visual artist

Mexico, 1958. I studied Sociology and Visual Arts at the UNAM specializing in Graphics in the United States of America -USA-. My first individual exhibition was in Austin TX in 1989.

Since then, I have participated in more than 300 national and international collective exhibitions as well as 18 individual exhibitions and I actively participate as an Art Consultant at www.libertades.com at www.markjay.com at ARTISTS STUDIOS at www.mazatlanlife.com as well as at www. .thejonathon.com

Since 2011 I have created a multidisciplinary artistic event in Día de Muertos, in which I also participate with plastic works and as Coordinator of more than 200 artists of music, contemporary dance, opera, theater, ballet, plastic arts, multimedia and folkloric of the CMA, with the technical, logistic and management team of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan www.culturamazatlan.com

In 1994 I was re-elected Vocal in AIAP International Artists Association -UNESCO, and since 1995 I belong to the Salon of Mexican Plastics, to SOMAAP Mexican Society of Authors of Plastic Arts, in 2002 to Mazatleca Historical Society, to the Vive la Machado program and from 1989 to La Peña Cultural Center; among other organizations of art and feminism.

I am also a teacher of History of Art in the Bachelor of Contemporary Dance of the Professional School of Dance of Mazatlan since 2003 and I am a teacher of Conceptual Arts in the Technical career in Plastic Arts; I am also Coordinator of the Plastic Arts Area at the CMA since 2011 and promoter and Academic Director of the Plastic Arts Technician, of the Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlan. Since 2001, I impart Saturday, a comprehensive workshop of Painting and Yoga for children from 3 to 7 years.
