El maestro Enrique Vega en nombre del Instituto de Cultura, dio por inaugurada esta dinámica y creativa exposición. En un breve discurso expresó su agradecimiento a los maestros Cecilia García, Lucila Santiago, Sergio Flores, Beatriz Fuentevilla, Miguel Flores y a la coordinadora Mónica Rice por el apoyo brindado hacia los alumnos; además, recalcó la importancia de impulsar el arte en el puerto. Lo aprendido en clase y el alto nivel técnico se vio reflejado en la gran variedad de técnicas y materiales utilizados en las 85 obras expuestas creadas con técnicas como óleo, acrílico, lápiz y pastel, terracota, xilografía, linoleografía, carboncillo, encausto y tinta china; en los materiales, la tela, el lienzo, papel, madera, barro y cartón predominaron en la elaboración de las obras.
En “Expresión propia” destaca la pluralidad en técnicas, materiales y los temas plasmados en las creaciones de los alumnos artistas. La temática contó con una extensa riqueza, es decir, fauna, flora, caricaturas, seres mitológicos, recreación de pinturas famosas, ecosistemas, alimento y figuras abstractas, entre otros.
La exhibición estará abierta hasta el 29 de julio con entrada gratuita a todo el público interesado.
