Presenting Dance, Music, Literature, Theater and Fine Arts shows

 

Artistic expressions will reach neighborhoods and rural areas

 

Spring Season 2023 will offer a range of options for family entertainment that begin on Tuesday, March 17th with the art exhibition “Culturas” by René González and culminate on July 20th with a concert! ¡Así suena el mariachi! [this is how mariachi sounds], starring Tenor Carlos Osuna, one of the freshest and most powerful voices on the international lyrical scene.

 

Under the direction and general production of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, headed by Raúl Rico González, the festival will present artistic events in enclosed spaces and outdoors, during the months of March, April, May, June and July.

 

“To continue with the cultural life generated by the Institute (of Cultura), is basically what we want to do. The priority of the institute has to do with the arts, in terms of education, promotion, public awareness, etc., and that is why it is very important for us that we immediately engage with a new program that we are announcing. from now to July”, said Raúl Rico.

 

In a press conference, the Director of CULTURA confirmed the use of the Ángela Peralta Theater, the Ángela Peralta Gallery, the Rubio Gallery, the municipal libraries and the sports fields of the Adolfo López Mateos, Francisco Villa and Mazatlán neighborhoods, as well as the covered areas of El Recodo, Villa Union and El Quelite.

 

Spring Season 2023 will present 74 cultural activities: 19 musical events, 8 Classical Ballet shows, 9 Contemporary Dance presentations, 3 Folkloric Dance shows, 21 Literary activities, 7 Theater plays and 7 art exhibitions.

 

The director of CULTURA announced among the major events, the first week of activities, the National Dance Company of Mexico presents “Don Quijote” (March 23) and the Ballet Gala (March 25th). On March 31st is the concert “Pascua Barroca”, its repertoire will go through pieces by Bach, Vivaldi and Pergolesi by the Camerata Mazatlán under the direction of maestro Gordon Campbell.

 

For lovers of classical dance, the Spring Season is nourished by the staging of: “Historias de un Grillo” [stories of a cricket], for the general public and for basic level students; “Tiempos de Amor” and “Peter Pan”, all under the artistic gaze and choreographic direction of maestra Zoila Fernández, who directs the students of the Municipal Ballet School and the dancers of the Mazatlán Ballet Dance Company.

 

The Spring-Summer cultural festival hosts in its program the Lyrical Gala on May 6 at the Ángela Peralta Theater, a show that under the direction of maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda, presents the youngest and most outstanding voices of opera in Mexico.

 

It should be noted that the Te Deum Laudamus concert to be held on May 11th at 8:00 p.m. at the Ángela Peralta Theater will be dedicated to the Bishop of Mazatlán, Monsignor Mario Espinosa Contreras, who is about to celebrate his 50th anniversary of priestly ordination. The Camerata Mazatlán participates under the baton of guest director Sergio Freeman.

 

The musical agenda includes the celebration of Music Day – on June 10th – in the streets of the Historic Center; the concert “Music for a thousand nights” by the Mazatlán Camerata under the direction of maestro Sergio Freeman and the “La Bohème” Opera, on June 2 at Casa Haas.

 

To expand the dissemination of Spring Season, the events will be broadcast through http://culturamazatlan.com, through Cultura TV – Facebook and through Youtube CulturaMazatlanTV.

 

The launch of the Yo + Cultura card was announced at the conference, which guarantees promotions and the delivery of souvenirs to frequent viewers.

 

Tomorrow, Friday, March 10th, we have a wonderful concert, which is not part of the program. Otto Sauter, a great trumpeter and a great German teacher, will perform. He is a world-class trumpeter, they classify him among the top ten in the world, he is one of the important ones, He played for John Paul II twice, he has played in the Sistine Chapel, in St. Peter’s Square, on the Chinese Wall, he is doing broadcasts that Paramount is producing for the whole world.
