The Bishop of the Diocese of Mazatlán, Mario Espinosa Contreras is about to celebrate 50 years of serving God. A lifetime of dedication, prayer and deep faith in Jesus Christ and to celebrate it in a big way, the Te Deum Laudamus concert will be offered this Thursday, May 11th at 7:30 p.m. at the Ángela Peralta Theater.

“We invite you to live that joy, to live that nourishment of the spirit to be able to appreciate concerts and great offers that are in the musical area, in beautiful singing to nourish ourselves and to be above all men and women of peace,” says Monsignor Espinosa Contreras.

During the golden concert to celebrate the 50 years of priestly ordination of Monsignor Mario Espinosa Contreras, the Camerata Mazatlán under the leadership of guest director Sergio Freeman will offer a concert for an ecumenical audience.

Works by great classical music composers will be performed, some with a dramatic breath and others with great interpretative capacity to stimulate the deepest emotions.

The program chosen for that night of celebration includes the Polovtsian Dances
of Prince Igor by the composer Aleksandr Porfírievich Borodín; Concert No. 2
for piano and orchestra by Tchaikovsky; the 4th Movement of the Ninth Symphony of
Beethoven, Intermezzo from the Rusticana Cavalry by Pietro Mascagni and Las Bodas by Luis Alonso.

About the 50th anniversary of his life dedicated to God, Monsignor Mario Espinosa Contreras, says: “Fifty years is a significant time but time passes
and one does not feel the accumulation of the years, I feel that it has not been heavy, tiring, although there have been special, difficult moments, however, there are many more the kind, pleasant, serene, ordinary ones”.

The moments with signs of pain have been quite few, thank God, the important thing is to live each moment with all propriety and determination, not going too far into the memory, nor to the future, but to live today with our feet on the Earth, he advises.

Tickets available at the Ángela Peralta Theater box office. $500, $400,
$300, $200 pesos. More information at 669 982 4446 ext. 103.
