A pleasant recital of music for flute was presented on Tuesday by students of the Music Workshop of the Municipal Center for the Arts. In this presentation, the young flutists were accompanied and directed by their maestra Frida Fernández, by maestro Pablo López on piano and Lester Alfonso Rosas on guitar.

The recital with music for flute, flute and piano, and flute and guitar went through Disney songs, Argentine tango and pieces from the classical repertoire, an auditory and emotional treat for an emotional audience that gave generous applause as a reward for discipline and performance art of each of the participants.

The five talents that captivated their parents, family, friends and the general public by demonstrating their mastery of the flute this school year are: Camila López Bueno; David Alberto Aguilar Velázquez and Damián Alejandro Pérez Suárez.

The repertoire was made up of the Mickey Mouse March (all); Study No. 2 and Study No. 10 (Berbiguier), Swan Lake; Sonata HWV 367th Handel; Libertango Piazzolla; Mozart Flute Concerto No. 2; Variation 2 of the Altés method; Telemann’s Fantasy No 2 in A minor; Mozart’s Andante K 315; Chaminade, concerto for flute and piano; Under the Sea and they finished with the work March – ‘Hi Ho’ – from Snow White.

At the end of his presentation, student David Aguilar expressed that studying at the CMA Music Workshop has been gratifying since he already played flute but the focus of the school is classical and although he likes popular music more, he feels that classical has helped him improve techniques when playing flute.

Student Damián Pérez shared that studying the flute at the CMA has been a very good experience because it is a very beautiful instrument.

“I don’t know how far I want to go, but for the moment studying, practicing and mastering (the flute) has been a great hobby, it is an instrument that requires a lot of study, coordination in the movement of the fingers and control of the air and when playing the flute you concentrate and forget everything to do it well”, he commented.

Frida Fernández, maestra in charge of the Flute Workshop, invited people from the age of 6 to register and study this instrument that is not expensive, it is beautiful and the results are very pleasant.
