Sonora Dinamita, stellar group

The power and female talent of Las Chelas Girl Band and the cathartic and liberating song of the interpreter Heidi Herrera, will be enjoyed by the public during the National Holidays, on September 15th from 6 pm in the Plazuela República.

The Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte invites the population to witness the traditional Grito de Independencia [cry of independence] and enjoy the show prepared to commemorate the historic moment with which the fight for the freedom of this Country began. The star group will be La Sonora Dinamita, announced by the President of Mazatlán, Edgar Augusto González Zatarain.

The stage will be installed next to Plazuela República on Ángel Flores street, in addition there will be a Gastronomic Exhibition on Benito Juárez street and a Fair with Mechanical Games next to the Palace, on 21 de Marzo street.

The animation begins at 6:00 p.m. with the arrival of the National Flag; at 6:30 p.m. the fun will be begin with Banda Santa Rosa; at 20:05 CULTURA’s Ballet Folklorico will dust off the floor with dances representative of Mexico.

At 8:30 p.m. Las Chelas will meet again with their fans who crowded their presentation on June 10 during the celebration of Dia de la Musica 2023.

Las Chelas Girl Band is a musical group formed in 2018 by Tanya Twain and Karla Veytia. The band has toured important Mazatlecan stages, from the Carnaval Internacional de Mazatlán parade to sharing the stage with the Queen of Disco Music, Gloria Gaynor. The group is made up of Mariana Ortega and Mariana Pamplona (Lead Singers), Tanya Twain (Guitar and Vocals), Karla Veytia (Drums and Vocals), Ferni Cup (Keyboards and Vocals), Jules Vilchis (Percussions and Vocals) and Linda Beerhouse (Bass); together they seek to share music with their particular style and encourage women to develop and have a presence in the music scene.

At 9:25 p.m., the Folkloric Ballet directed by Javier Arcadia will return to the stage and from 10:00 p.m. the public will enjoy the performance of Heidi Herrera with her popular show ‘Lo que cantamos las mujeres’. The musical journey that celebrates a decade of successful presentations, goes through the greatest hits of the divas in Spanish in the 80’s and 90’s with a comic touch but at the same time encourages female empowerment. It is a liberating, cathartic, interactive and singable show starring its creator Heidi Herrera, with more than 20 years of experience as a singer.

Arrival of the National Flag

At 10:50 p.m. the Banda de Guerra and escort of the III Military Region will arrive.
At 10:52 p.m., the escort of the Banda de Guerra of the III Military Region to the Hall will deliver the national flag to the Municipal President of Mazatlán in City Hall.
At 10:58 p.m. the Mayor will receive the flag and at 11:00 p.m. he will give the traditional “Grito” of Independence.

The National Anthem and a rain of fireworks will precede the performance of Sonora Dinamina starting at 11:15 p.m., a group with a great musical tradition in Mexico that will be in charge of the great closing of this celebration
