Yamel Domort (soprano) and Andrés Carrillo (tenor), will be the protagonists of “Gala Puccini”, a program with the most represented music of the Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, their performance will be prior to the start of the Opera – Ballet “Le Villi” by the same composer that will be staged on October 13th and 14th, 2023 at the Ángela Peralta Theater as part of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán2023.

The gala offers arias from Puccini’s most listened to work: Madama Butterfly, Edgar, Turandot, Tosca, Sour Angelica, Manon Lescaut, Gianni Schicchi and La fanciulla del west.

Yamel Domort (soprano), has a degree in Singing from the National Conservatory of Music of Mexico; headline in the role of Aída in five productions of the opera “Aída” by G. Verdi in Athens, Greece with the Athens Philharmonic, Germany Aachen, with the Toluca Philharmonic Orchestra, the Art Festival in Atizapán México and the Sinaloa Symphony Orchestra of the Arts.

She was the winner in 2020 as Best Latin American singer in the World Folk Vision International Competition and Festival.

Andrés Carrillo (tenor) from Mexicali, Baja California, is one of the tenors with the greatest presence in the artistic scene of Mexico. His intense musical activity, which includes opera, symphonic and concert music, has led him to stand out as a soloist with the most important orchestras in Mexico such as the Fine Arts Theater Orchestra, OFUNAM, the Minería Symphony Orchestra and the Symphonies of the State of Mexico, Sinaloa, Nuevo León, Coahuila, Xalapa, Jalisco, and Baja California.

Winner of the Youth Revelation award, 3rd place in opera and 1st place in Zarzuela at the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition; 2nd place, Audience Award and Plácido Domingo Award from the Sinaloa International Singing Contest; semi-finalist of the Neue Stimmen Competition in Germany.
