Of all the beach destinations in Mexico, Mazatlán remains the spearhead of culture, said maestro Ragnar Conde today, with extensive experience in the stage direction of massive shows in Mexico, the United States, Colombia, Spain, France, Italy and Switzerland.

At a press conference held this Thursday to promote the staging of the opera The Marriage of Figaro by composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart – on November 17th and 19th at the Ángela Peralta Theater – Ragnar Conde expressed that in addition to the advantages of coming to the beach, Mazatlán is a place where art is created and built every day, where artists are not only putting on shows, they are making reflections, it is an intellectual niche thanks to the support of institutions.

Excitedly, I have highlighted that the staging of The Marriage of Figaro will respect the original story but adapted to the current era – the adaptation will take the public to a hotel in the port. Around 130 artists participate on stage, including musicians from the Camerata Mazatlán, voices from the Ángela Peralta Choir under the direction of Mary Murillo and soloists.

The staging is a co-production of Vinceró Academy, Escenia Ensamble A.C. and the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlán.

It is a very interesting production not only because of its musical complexity, but because it is an extremely dynamic production with a wonderful cast, a very entertaining work, everything happens on the wedding day of Figaro and Susanna.

The renowned stage director highlighted the high quality of the soloists, students of Vinceró Academy, an academic platform that teaches improvement classes to soloists from Central and South American countries, the United States, Canada and Europe.

At the press conference, maestro Ragnar Conde was accompanied by Esteban Baltazar (Figaro); Emma Robertson (Susanna); Daniela Yurrita (Contessa) and by Raúl Rico González, General Director of the Municipal Institute of Culture, Tourism and Art of Mazatlán.
