This Tuesday at the Gran Acuario Mazatlán, Dr. Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, writer, journalist, researcher and wife of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, learned about the brightness, joy and fun of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2023 and enjoyed a show with music and dances from Sinaloa, during “Fandangos por lectura”, a cultural program promoted by the federal government that seeks to awaken the love for literature.
The event was headed by Gutiérrez Müller; the Ambassador of Mexico in China, Zhang Run; the Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya and the Mayor of Mazatlán, Édgar González Zatarain, among other special guests such as athletes, writers and officials of different levels.
The dances of the region were performed by the CULTURA Folkloric Ballet, which began its participation with the Dance of the Deer, one of the most important rituals of the native peoples of northern Sinaloa, a dance that earned the admiration of the people in the presidium, and the ETI 77 students who were in the audience.
Afterwards the dancers performed “Pato asado”; To the sound of the drum, the spectators admired the striking dresses and regional costumes worn by the young people who, with overflowing verve and enthusiasm, demonstrated the joyful dances of the Sinaloan region.
To conclude their performance, the group warmed up to the rhythm of “El Sinaloense”, and seconds later S.G.M appeared on stage. Alejandra Tirado, Queen of Carnaval Internacional Mazatlán 2023, and Víctor II, King of Carnaval, worthy ambassadors of the great Port festival.
The Great Mazatlán Aquarium was the headquarters of this international literary event, where authorities, guests and students participated by reading stories, poems, and different subjects printed in the book “Letters without Borders”, edition published for the state of Sinaloa.
Closing the event, the Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, invited attendees to read any type of book, especially those published by Sinaloan writers such as Dámaso Murua, and Juan José Rodríguez, among others.
