The most beautiful melodies written by María Grever and Agustín Lara, were performed at Casa Haas by local artists in an evening to remember that allowed a trip through time in the concert “María and Augustine.”

An anticipated event that is part of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023, locals and foreigners packed the Escobedo Street venue to listen to soprano Alelhí Montelongo, tenor Luis García and baritone Juan Fernando Martínez, accompanied on the piano by maestro Sergio Castellanos, offering a beautiful recital and some surprises such as the participation of the singer Samantha López.

The musical tour began with the voice of baritone Fernando Martínez, who performed with feeling “Alma mia”, a creation by María Grever, a song that earned him loud applause as the auditorium finished filling up.

Tenor Luis García performed the piece “Mujer” from the so-called ‘Flaco de oro’, followed by the performance of soprano Alelhí Montelongo with the song “Cuando vuelva a tu lado”, a hit by the singer-songwriter María Grever.

As the evening passed, the soloists took the stage and performed “Piensa en mi”, “Despedida”, “Di que has dejado en mi ser”, “Silverio”, “Así”, “Farolito”, “Tipi tipi tin”, “Arráncame la vida”, and “Ya no me quieres”.

The first surprise of the night was the participation of Samantha López who performed “Amor de mis amores” to loud applause.

The duets were part of the evening, the first was performed by Montelongo and Martínez with the piece “Cada noche un amor”, followed by “Te quiero dijiste”.

For the end of this night, the singers delighted the audience with “Granada”, and “Júrame”, to close this concert with a flourish with the best of María Grever (1885-1951) and Agustín Lara (1897-1970). ), prominent figures of bolero in Mexico.
