Significant progress is being made in the rehabilitation and equipment work at the Cinema of the Municipal Arts Center, which will soon reopen its doors to provide a higher quality service to the public.
Liliana Aréchiga Pérez, educational director of the CMA, reported that a total of 462,855 pesos were invested in the equipment and restoration of the film projection room.
Acoustic insulation material was installed, the room was carpeted – a part is still missing; Audio equipment has been installed and a high-quality video projector will be installed.
The resources were provided by the Ministry of Cultura through the Mexican Institute of Cinematography in response to the presentation of a project that met the requirements of the call for support for equipment and/or conditioning of spaces and film exhibition projects 2023 of the Program Promotion of Mexican Cinema (FOCINE).
Since its opening in 2021, through this national subsidy program, 227 projects have been supported to promote Mexican cinema in its three aspects: 115 production, 87 exhibition and 25 preservation of collections.
