Twenty-one paintings and drawings representative of the Mazatlecan painter and sculptor Antonio López Sáenz (+) will be on public view starting this Thursday, January 11th at Galería Ángela Peralta.

The exhibition “Forever Antonio López Sáenz” will be inaugurated this Thursday at 7:00 p.m. in the presence of family, friends, collectors and CULTURA invites the public who wish to learn about the work of the prestigious Sinaloan artist.

The inauguration will be led by Víctor López, the artist’s nephew, and during the ceremony writer Juan José Rodríguez will speak about the legacy of the works of art of the master Antonio López Sáenz, which will remain alive before the eyes of spectators of several generations.

Painter and sculptor of international stature, Antonio López Sáenz is the most important fine artist in Sinaloa. His aesthetic, perfectly defined, has been appreciated in museums and galleries in Mexico and other countries.

His paintings show memories trapped in memory; personal experiences as his friend José Luis Cuevas once told him, a look that evokes the past of Mazatlán, represented by men and women with voluminous bodies and small heads lacking features.

During his lifetime his paintings were admired in several states of the Mexican Republic; in Washington, Detroit, Miami, San Francisco, San Antonio, Chicago, Madrid, Lisbon, Zurich and Paris, among others.

In 2014, moved to tears, maestro Antonio López Sáenz received the Honoris Causa Doctorate, awarded by the Autonomous University of Sinaloa. On December 14th, 2021, the prestigious fine artist was named Honorary Patron of the Faro Mazatlán Natural Park.

“Forever Antonio López Sáenz” will remain on public view from January 11th to February 29th. Free admission.
