More than 100 artists on the stage of the Ángela Peralta Theater, the “Velada Musica” concert starring members of the School of Music and Singing of the Municipal Arts Center, the Ángela Peralta Choir, the CMA Children’s Choir and the Guillermo Choir Sarabia, was the finishing touch to close the school year of this institution.

At the end of the artistic function, authorities from the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, headed by the General Director José Ángel Tostado Quevedo, delivered diplomas and awards to the students who successfully completed their cycle.

On stage, the Musical Evening began with a guitar ensemble led by maestros Jesús Antero García and Luis Castro, where the students performed “Tierra Mestiza” by Gerardo Tamez, “Moliendo café” by José Manzo and “Barcelona nigths” by Ottmar Liebert. The ensemble of woodwinds followed with the pieces “Dueto 1”, “Minueto” and “Vois sur ton ch”.

The presentations of the String Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and Brass Ensemble, were to the taste of the attendees who gave loud applause. The CMA Children’s Choir directed by Maestra Mariela Angulo had an outstanding participation interpreting songs such as “Let it be” and “All you need is love”, inspirations by John Lennon.

The Guillermo Sarabia Choir directed by Maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda, Martha Félix and Juan Pablo García, as well as the Ángela Peralta Choir, led by Maestro Mary Murillo, provided an excellent participation in the Musical Evening.

To conclude the night, music students from the CMA offered a special number called Ensemble Body Percution, where with great coordination and concentration they performed music with their own bodies, an activity rarely seen on a stage in the Port.
