“Paisajes y Memoria” [landscapes and memory], an exhibition by maestra Martha Romero will be inaugurated at the Rubio Gallery on Friday, September 29th at 7:00 p.m. and will remain open to the public until October 27th.

“Landscapes and Memory” invites us to reflect on the fragility of our world and of life itself and calls us to value and protect our home, the earth. Each painting and each little house tells us a story that connects us with our life.

Martha Romero arouses our astonishment with 26 acrylic and gold leaf paintings and an installation of 100 miniature houses, made from recycled paper by the artist. In each of the paintings we perceive the fusion between art and nature in a happy mix of vibrant colors and a golden glow.

Each line and brushstroke contains a narrative that transports us to real or imaginary landscapes. The gold ones evoke the intense Sinaloan sun.

The artistic installation made up of a hundred little houses is a metaphor for the importance of protecting our environment. As we contemplate this village we are immersed in a journey through time, where memory and the landscape are intertwined thanks to the magic of art.
