Mazatlecan Tenor Carlos Osuna crossed the Atlantic Ocean to fulfill professional commitments in Vienna and then he will return to Mazatlán, the city where he was born to delight with his concert ‘Así suena el Mariachi’.

It will be on September 17th at 8:00 p.m. in the same venue when the artist from Mazatlan will meet again with the public that has followed his career and with those who were left wanting to enjoy his performance due to the sold-out first function.

The tenor commented that it gives him enormous pleasure to perform again, especially on those beautiful dates that are the National Holidays.

“The repertoire will be a journey with the songs made famous by Pedro Infante, Javier Solís, Vicente Fernández, Alejandro Fernández, José Alfredo Jiménez and some more things will be added,” he added.

The recognized value of international opera said he was very happy because the concert will be repeated at the request of the public.

He highlighted that once again he will be accompanied by Mazatlecan Mezzosoprano Sarah Holcombe; the male voices of the Ángela Peralta Choir; musicians from the “Mariachi Ensamble Tradicional Mexicano” of maestro Samuel Murillo and the Folkloric Ballet of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán of maestro Javier Arcadia.

Carlos Osuna emphasized that he is returning to Vienna to fulfill work commitments and returns to Sinaloa on an almost 17-hour flight to prepare for the concert on September 17.

Among his most important roles, tenor Carlos Osuna has personified Narraboth from the opera Salomé at Carnegie Hall in New York. Critics called his voice “fiery and brilliant” after his performance, a welcome boost to his years of arduous vocal training and honing the operatic repertoire.

Carlos Osuna was recognized as “Prophet in his Land”. He began with maestra Cristina Vadillo and continued his artistic development in the hall of the Ángela Peralta Choir, of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, under the tutelage of Maestro Antonio González Guerrero. In his formation, extraordinary talents were added, such as maestros Enrique Patrón de Rueda, Martha Félix and Teresa Rodríguez, to later improve in Bellas Artes and in Wales. In Europe, he successfully ventured on stages in Switzerland, Austria, Ireland, the Netherlands, and Italy, but he has also been recognized in Japan and New York’s Carnegie Hall. He is currently the resident soloist of the Vienna State Opera.

The tenor aroused the interest of world opera luminaries, with whom he has shared stages and master classes. Legends like Plácido Domingo, Ramón Vargas, Anna Netrebko, Rolando Villazón, Juan Diego Florez and the famous Argentine tenor José Cura, have underpinned his presentations and contributed to his formation. In May 2015, his career shone with greater intensity when he played Ismaele, the main tenor role in Verdi’s opera Nabucco alongside Plácido Domingo, who leads the list of the twenty best tenors in the world.
