The work is presented within the programming of Escena Mazatlán
Mazatlán, Sinaloa, September 7, 2023.- ‘El Hijo de mi Padre’, a play for adolescents and adults, written, directed and performed by Adrián Vázquez, member of the company “Los Tristes Tigres”, will be presented at the Ángela Theater Peralta on Friday, September 29th at 8:00 p.m. within the Escena Mazatlán 2023 programming.
Adrián Vázquez, remembered for his great performance in the character in “Smaller than the Guggenheim” by Alejandro Ricaño, returns to Mazatlán with a heartbreaking, raw and painful monologue.
The monologue takes us into the mind of Maxi (Chimino), who remembers his childhood in a neighborhood in Tijuana.
A one-person show that invites you to reflect on how young people can destroy their future.
Biography of Adrian Vazquez
Graduated in Theater from the Universidad Veracruzana. He has participated as an actor in more than 60 plays, including: ‘Greed’ (Speed de plow) by David Mamet, directed by Daniel Veronese; ‘‘La obra que sale mal’, directed by Mark Bell; ‘Más pequeño que el Guggenheim,’ ‘Un hombre ajeno’ and ‘La guerra en la niebla’by Alejandro Ricaño. ‘Bosques’, ‘Litoral’, ‘Cuchillo’ and ‘Incendios’ by Wadji Mouwad, directed by Hugo Arrevillaga. The one-person shows ‘‘No fue precisamente Bernardette’, ‘Los días de Carlitos’ and ‘El Hijo de mi Padre’;; of
his own authorship.
As a director, he has made stagings such as: ‘Fractales’, ‘Algo de un tal Shakespeare’, ‘Wenses y Lala’, ‘Tonta’, ‘Los que Sobran’, ‘Dos para el camino’, ‘Visceral’, ‘Donde los mundos Colapsan’, ‘Tom Pain’, and ‘Los vuelos solitarios’ among others.
He has been a teacher at the Schools of Theater and Dance at the Universidad Veracruzana. In addition to giving various workshops on Interpretation and Stage Creation.
In Cinema, he has starred in the films DODO (2014) and ‘Placa de Acero’ (2019). He co-starred in ‘Polvo’ (2019), acting as Toto, a role that earned him a nomination for Best Male Co-acting at the Ariel 2020. In addition to ‘Elisyum’ (2013) with Matt Damon, ‘Pura Sangre’ (2016), ‘Todo mal’ (2018) among others.
He has also participated in series such as ‘Los enviados’ (2021), Bunker (2021) among others.
