An afternoon of unpublished poetry was experienced at Casa Haas within the “Literary Thursday” program, with the participation of the Mazatlecan poets María Feliz Raygoza Viera, Héctor José Domínguez and Karina Castillo, who read their poetry, most of it, pieces that had not been heard before.

 

For this occasion, people of all ages were attentive to the verses, receptive to the message and participatory with the poets, giving a plus to the “Equidistant light” program, with the intervention of maestra María Muñiz as moderator.

 

Karina Castillo was the first to read the verses published in her collection of poems “Güebsait” in 2022. According to the author, they were written in 2011, after exchanging a series of messages with contacts on different platforms.

 

She also read a couple of unpublished poems inspired by love, heartbreak, and people’s daily lives.

 

A psychologist by profession, with two completed postgraduate degrees, Héctor José Domínguez from the port opened his imagination and of the more than 100 poems written he read four, both without names; He hopes that the printing of his book will soon be a reality.

 

Versatile was the participation of María Félix Raygoza; She read romantic poems, others dedicated to childhood such as “Luna” and “Olas”, and confessed that when writing her last unpublished poem she was inspired by her husband. Each time she received loud applause.

 

Moderator María Muñiz commented that Literary Thursday was born to give a voice to Mazatlan artists, generate a cultural exchange with writers from the interior of the Mexican Republic and motivate and discover children who are passionate about has couple of stories and hopes to help them crystallize in some way.

 

Comments arose among the audience and one of them was for María Félix, whom a lady labeled as the ‘López Sáenz’ of Mazatlecan poetry.

 

With a loud ovation to each of the participants, and the presentation of recognition to the poets, the second broadcast of Literary Thursday, which is part of the programming of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023, came to an end.
