Until January 19, 51 works by visual artist Cecilia Sánchez Duarte will be exhibited

Surrounded by friends and public who appreciate her work and follow her career and in the presence of the media, visual artist Cecilia Sánchez Duarte inaugurated her twentieth individual exhibition “Obras Vivas” Optical Prints, which will remain open at the Rubio Gallery until January 19th.

In her reunion with the public, the visual artist presented 51 pieces in various forms, these are wood and linoleum relief engravings presented in various formats that have different figures and messages.

The pieces are the result of a new technique created by the artist to achieve the effect of three-dimensional vision with the use of layers of fabric and lace that, when superimposed, and with movement, allow the viewer to also achieve the visual illusion of movemen in each piece.

These are creative processes of many years in which tools such as the knife and the hammer were used.

The presentation of this exhibition programmed within the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023 was led by the writer Ana Belén López.

After thanking for the presence of the public and the support of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán to mount this exhibition, maestra Cecilia Sánchez Duarte spoke about her new printing technique called Optical Prints and which consists of achieving the perception of three-dimensionality with the use of fabric and lace supports.

The technique created by maestra Cecilia Sánchez Duarte called “Optical Prints” has registration pending before the Mexican Institute of Intellectual Property (IMPI) with file number 30441214, the brand is called “ARTE SANDÚ Optical Prints”.

The works will be for sale at introductory prices and are delivered with a certificate of authenticity; The money raised will be donated to an NGO that is responsible for water care.

The exhibition will be open to the public until January 19th, 2024 and later some of the works will be exhibited in other galleries and in Houston, Texas.
