Today more than ever, Mazatlán is projected as one of the most important tourist destinations in the country and the world with the construction of works that reflect the benefits and beauty of this land; This afternoon the Mayor of Mazatlán, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres, together with the Director of the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte, Lic. José Ángel Tostado Quevedo and other authorities inaugurated the Callejón Liverpool (formerly Malpica Street).

It is an ideal space to generate a cultural tourist corridor that connects with Centro Historico and gives Mazatlán the opportunity to show itself to national and international tourists.

With European touches and a legendary history in music, this alley is a replica of England’s Liverpool Street, which honors one of the best musical bands of all time The Beatles; Among its architectural attractions is the monument to the members of this group, as well as the Cavern Club, the place where the rock band debuted, recreating all the atmosphere, design, quality and European beauty with the touch and grandeur of Mazatlán.

The Municipal President, Quimico Luis Guillermo Benitez Torres thanked the sum of efforts of his entire team to achieve this great work that comes to leave its mark in Mazatlán.

“This is a project that is not born by chance, it is born from the love we have for this Port, it is born from an idea to globalize Mazatlan, we are looking for European tourism, to put our Port in the eyes of the world,” he said.

Benitez Torres recognized the work of sculptor Óscar Ponzanelli for the creation of the figures of John Lennon, George Harrison, Paul McCartney and Ringo Star, Ocean Rodríguez creative designer, Sherwin Williams for donation of the painting, Eduardo Guízar of the environmental audio system and the entire Cultura team led by José Ángel Tostado involved in the creation of a space that aims to attract the attention and preference of all types of tourism.

“We are on the path of transformation, we are going to leave a Mazatlán for all history,” he concluded.

During the inauguration of Callejon Liverpool, within the cultural and artistic activities, The Big Band The Clasics Orchestra and Los Cryps Musical Group were presented, who masterfully set the musical atmosphere by opening what will be the cultural corridor.

To close with a flourish, a group of drones lit up the sky in front of the imposing Pacific Ocean giving majesty to this work, which, without a doubt, will take away the best memories of those who visit it. Simultaneously in the Plazuela de los Leones, within this framework, the book “Sin alas vuela”, by Guadalupe Rojas, was exhibited, as well as the participation of the Blanconero group who added a touch of romanticism to the night.
