Maestro Faustino López Osuna shared great moments and his experiences as a creator, composer and poet, with Mazatlecos of all ages at the “Ingeniero Manuel Bonilla” Public Library, better known as de los Leones

The event was convened by the Directorate of the Municipal Center for the Arts of the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán. The initiative aims to transform libraries into centers not only for promoting reading, but also in forums for promoting art and culture.

Originally from Concordia, Sinaloa, the winner of the Sinaloa Award for the Arts in 2012, focused his talk on what he considered the most prodigious thing an artist can have: his legacy, embodied in his writings both in poetry, reports, and in songs like “El sanignacence”, “El Escuinapense” and his masterpiece the “Himno Oficial de Sinaloa”.

As master of ceremony, maestra Guadalupe Veneranda gave an x-ray of the career of this illustrious Sinaloan, who in addition to being an artist was a teacher, founder of Infonavit, among many other tasks.

“The artist, composer, creator, poet, isolated and without contact with others does not exist, the best actor in the world if he does not have an audience, he does not exist, then mine is worth what it has resulted in, they give it commercial value on the radio to the records to the songs I’ve made, then okay”, he exclaimed.

“The anthem (of Sinaloa) which was a national contest where we were 47 (participants) and I was the winner already brings a social repercussion and okay, the value is added by the social, what others feel is theirs, an example , the musicians who play on the beach and ask for my compositions, even if I don’t earn a five for that, it’s okay, because that means that they have a livelihood for their home, and that’s satisfying,” said López Osuna.

Among the many anecdotes he recounted was a recent one that occurred at the wake of former Sinaloa governor Jesús Aguilar Padilla, a native of the municipality of Cosalá, who on his way to his last resting place was played several times by “El cosalteco”, a theme that filled him with pride. , and more when he was congratulated by the current Governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya for this cultural musical jewel.

Speaking of literature, the poet also invited the new generations to respect the rules of poetry, to polish their writings, to train themselves if they want to live from that, since the reader deserves respect, and they must deliver a neat job to continue preserving the manifestation of beauty or aesthetic feeling through words, in verse or prose.
