The Governing Council of the Mazatlán Historic Center IAP and the Instituto Municipal, de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, will promote programs to elevate the cultural life of Centro Historico.
The first activity is a concert by the Symphonic Band of the Third Military Region on Monday, March 20th at 12:00 p.m. in Plazuela Machado.
Martín Gavica Saénz, coordinator of the culture and art commission of the nascent council, explained that the intention is to schedule presentations by the III Military Region Symphony, every fortnight, during the arrival of tourist boats so that cruise passengers have the opportunity to enjoy their performance while touring Centro Historico.
The Music Band of the Third Military Region will perform for 90 minutes its wide repertoire of regional, Sinaloan, classical, contemporary, and mambo music among others, it has 33 members and is directed by Second Lieutenant Rafael Pantaleón Cuevas.
This event inaugurates a cycle of traveling presentations that will take place every 15 days between March and May 2023 in different squares, parks and public spaces in the city for the enjoyment of tourists and locals.
Gavica Sáenz pointed out that the second appearance of the Region III Symphony will be on Thursday, March 23rd at 12:00 p.m., at a venue yet to be defined
