Actress Paulina Moneda and dancer/choreographer Hanna Valle won the applause of the public at the end of their performance in “Los Camaleones”, a free version of the work of prominent Sinaloan playwright Oscar Liera .

The monologue directed by Manuel Ruiz with production by Carlos Alfonso Cordero Portas, tells the story of “Laura”, a young woman who experiences a constant internal struggle, insecurity and fear of the need to share her homosexuality with her father and with the world.

“Los Camaleones” is a tribute to the author and to those who have participated in social movements in search of recognition of the rights of the LGBT community.

“Los Camaleones” presents to the public the existential conflict that surrounds the lives of those who fight against their own sexual identity and do not dare to live it openly for fear of misunderstanding, criticism and social rejection.

This work established Oscar Liera as one of the most notable Mexican playwrights and theater directors of the second half of the 20th century.

The piece reached greater depth with the outstanding stage performance of the dancer and choreographer Hanna Valle who, through contemporary dance, tried to accompany the pain and unhappiness that people like “Laura” experience.

At the end of the cast he received loud applause from the public. The performance was dedicated to honoring the memory of Max Corrales, contemporary dance performer, graduate of the 16th generation of the Mazatlán Professional Dance School, who was murdered a few days ago.
