The student of the CULTURA Opera Workshop competes in Peru

Mezzo-soprano Rosa Ferreiro, a student of maestro Enrique Patrón de Rueda and the Opera Workshop of the Higher School of Music and Singing of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, managed to move on to the semi-final in the XI edition of the Latin American Lyric Singing Contest organized by Radio Filarmonía which takes place in Lima, Peru.

After her successful participation in “Misa Azteca” (oratorio by Joseph Julián González) presented at the Ángela Peralta Theater on October 7th, Rosa Ferreiro traveled to Lima, Peru, to participate in said contest that serves as a screening stage for the new opera values formed in the countries of North, Central and South America.

Juan Carlos Fisher, Director of Filarmonía, highlighted on social networks the resounding success of the call as around 30 soloists from different Latin American countries participate, including Costa Rica, Cuba, Chile, Peru and Mexico.

This Friday, October 13th, there will be the semifinal in which 17 singers are left. Tomorrow, Saturday, the Grand Final will be broadcast live from the Manuel Ascencio Theater.
