With an audience of all ages, mostly young people, the Jazz Band of the Municipal Arts Center gave a great concert on the Canarios basketball court at Infonavit Alarcón, headquarters of the Cultura en tu Casa program.

 

Dozens of residents gathered to appreciate a different show that exceeded expectations and sparked interest in this musical genre brought to that human settlement by the Instituto de Cultura de Mazatlán within the framework of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023.

 

Carlos Rivas, a resident of Infonavit Alarcón, indicated that when he found out about it, he did not hesitate to go with his family; his preschool children were the ones who most enjoyed the music performed by the pupils of maestro Omar Ríos.

 

On this occasion the group was made up of bassist Jacob Peralta, David Aguilar on flute and keyboard; Karla Veytia, Javier Brito and Paquito López were on percussion; David Eduardo played the violin, Jazz Jasso was on the piano, Antonio Lizárraga was in charge of the guitar and Jordan Cabrera was the saxophonist of the band.

 

The concert began with the debut of the three-piece ensemble where percussionist Javier Brito, David Eduardo on violin and David Aguilar on piano played two swing-type melodies that generated a series of applause.

 

During the concert some of the pieces performed ranged from swing jazz, blues, funk, and they also performed: “Chameleons”, “Affirmation”, y “The Chicken”, the last piece thrilled the audience with the variations that each musician performed. during this long melody.

 

For drummer Paquito López this night was special, not only because he was accompanied in the audience by family and friends, but because he saw a great union between his fellow musicians reflected in the hours of rehearsal that each one has invested, letting their being flow. in every improvisation.
