This Saturday, June 17th, the activity returns to the Cinema of the Municipal Center of the Arts, at 6:00 p.m. the winning feature film of the Berlin Golden Bear is exhibited in its 65th edition (2015) the film “Taxi Tehran”, directed by Jafar Panahi.

This show is a mix of documentary with fiction, where the director is the protagonist who travels the streets of Tehran, Iran, from inside a taxi to present a series of vignettes that reflect the life and culture of this country.

The reason why the director of the film decides to take us through the city from a car that he drives himself is simple: the Iranian government has prohibited Panahi from making films in the country, he has even been arrested for his film work. As a protest against the restrictions imposed by the government and his cinematographic exile, the director decides to mount his camera in the vehicle and travel the streets to secretly film.

The very diverse passengers get into the taxi and openly express their opinion while having a chat with the driver who is none other than the director. His camera, placed on the dashboard of the vehicle, captures the spirit of Iranian society through this journey, a film that has received positive reviews from specialized film critics.

The film is projected in its original language with Spanish subtitles.
