Under the name “Sentimientos de la Poesía de Alfonso Reyes”, this Friday, July 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Casa Haas there will be a literary evening starring the French-Mexican writer Sylvia Schneider.

Great-granddaughter of Alfonso Reyes and winner of the Jules Ferry literary prize in the novel category for 1 “La Ballade des aujourd’hui”, Publibook editions, with the support of the Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlán, the author will give a lecture on The notable Mexican writer will also present two of his most recent books: “12 poemas de escala” y “Ellos alimentaban al sol”

“12 poemas en escala” is the most recent of her published works, it went on sale in April of this year, it develops a dozen poems in French, it was published by Editorial Presas Literaires, from the Los Visionarios collection.

The piece “Ellos alimentaban al sol”, was published in September 2020 with the support of the publishing house Les Presses Littéraires, Crimes et Chatiments Collection, is the first crime novel by Sylvia Schneider and has garnered good reviews in Mexico and Europe.

Born in 1963, Sylvia Schneider grew up between Mexico and France, she is the great-granddaughter of the Mexican writer Alfonso Reyes, her university career was shaped under the influence of literature.

After a doctorate in letters on the symbolism of initiation in the works of Alejo Carpentier and Michel Tournier, plus several years in charge of communication within the Alliance Française, she shares her time among the cultural animation of a media library in the midst of the territorial collective of Yvelines and her vocation as a writer.

Admission to the event is free with access control tickets available at the Ángela Peralta Theater box office from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
