The “Marco Lugo” Cinematograph of the Municipal Arts Center, reopens its doors this Saturday, November 11 at 6:00 p.m. with the screening of the film “Pan’s Labyrinth” (2006) by Director Guillermo del Toro, multi-award winning at the 2007 Ariel Awards and winner of 3 of its 5 Oscar nominations.

This classic of world cinema tells that in 1944, in the post-civil war in Spain, the rebels are still fighting in the mountains against the Falangist troops. The young and imaginative Ofelia (Ivana Baquero) travels with her pregnant and sick mother to the countryside to meet and live with her stepfather, the sadistic and cruel Captain Vidal (Sergi López), in an old mill.

During the night, Ofelia meets a fairy and together they go to a well in the center of a labyrinth where they meet a faun (Doug Jones) who tells them that she is a princess from an underground kingdom. She also tells him that her father is waiting for her, but that first she must complete three dangerous tasks. In a dark, harsh and violent world, Ofelia lives her magical world trying to survive her tasks and see her father again.

Admission is free with limited space, the door located on Carnaval Street in front of Plazuela Machado opens at 5:40 p.m. and closes promptly at 6:00 p.m.
