Claudia Lavista, Co-Director of Delfos Danza Contemporánea and the Mazatlán Professional Dance School, invites the public to enjoy the show “Marea Perpetua”, a very special presentation starring students of the EPDM, in the main room of the Ángela Peralta Theater, on Sunday, December 3 at 7:00 p.m.

“Marea Perpetua” [perpetual tide] is made up of eight pieces created by EPDM students in the subject “Trabajos Creativos”.

The show has the force of the tide of the perpetuity of the sea, of the perpetuity of expressiveness, of the body in movement and of the importance of education in the arts and specifically in dance; It was set up to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the school and we thought it was a very powerful name to start the next 25 years with this tide that has to do with youth, said dancer, choreographer, teacher and manager Claudia Lavista.

In the eight pieces that will be presented there are solos, there are duets, there are trios, there are quartets and there is a quintet and some are inspired by more abstract themes, they seem like paintings in motion, rhythmic games, and others are very existential and philosophical.

maestra Lavista affirms that in these pieces the dancers talk about their own concerns, their way of seeing what is happening in the world, it is like a kaleidoscope that allows us to see what the young generations are thinking and it is very important to turn to see them because they are visions that have to be understood and promoted.

What the public will see is the voice of young people, we believe that it is important to listen to the topics that interest them, the ways in which they want to talk about those topics, the way in which they are understanding the body, movement and the stage, she added.

The renowned dancer and choreographer considered it essential to give space and voice to young people for the construction of everything that comes.

“If we are thinking about the next 25 years of the school, we have to think about it from the paradigm of youth, not from the paradigm of those of us who are a little older,” she concluded.

“Marea Perpetua” is a great event of the Festival Cultural Mazatlán 2023, tickets cost $200 pesos and are available at the Ángela Peralta Theater box office or at the digital box office at WhatsApp 669 120 0020.
