“Violette” de Martin Provost este sábado en el Cinematógrafo

El Cineasta Martín Provost realiza un extraordinario bioepic sobre la vida de Violette Leduc, una mujer que luchó contra los convencionalismos sociales y literarios de su época; retratando su vida desde el final de la Segunda Guerra Mundial hasta la publicación de su primer betseller, “La Bastarda”, novela con la que obtuvo el Premio Goncourt en 1964. El relato muestra las relaciones de Violette con la polémica escritora y pesadora Simone de Beauvoir, así como con otras celebridades como jean Genet y Jeacques Guerin, entre otros. El resultado es un intenso relato que recrea una vida compleja y atormentada, que por su extraordinaria calidad artística tuvo su Presentación Especial en el Festival de Toronto 2013.Actor, guionista y director francés, Martín Provost inició su carrera como actor en 1976 en la película “La Joven Emmanuelle”. En 1992 debuta como guionista y director del cortometraje “Cocon”. En 2003 realiza la película “El vientre de Juliette” y recibe el Premio Tournage en el Festival de Avignon. Su filme más reconocido es “Seraphine” (08), un excelente bioepic sobre una mujer sencilla que se convierte en pintora, un trabajo con el que consiguió siete Premios Cesar a lo Mejor del Cine Francés. Sus trabajos más recientes son “Violette” (13) y “The miswife” (17).

Filmmaker Martín Provost performs an extraordinary bioepic on the life of Violette Leduc, a woman who fought against the social and literary conventions of her time; portraying her life from the end of World War II until the publication of her first bestseller, “La Bastarda”, a novel with which she won the Goncourt Prize in 1964. The story shows Violette´s relationship with the controversial writer and weight-lifter Simone de Beauvoir, as well as with other celebrities such as Jean Genet and Jacques Guerin, among others. The result is an intense story that recreates a complex and tormented life, which for its extraordinary artistic quality had its Special Presentation at the Toronto Festival 2013.
