Throughout history, art has been a key entity in changing the lifestyle of those who perform it, in recent months, Maestro Ramón Gómez Polo, Director of the Theater School of the Municipal Center of Arts, taught classes to students who are in treatment and who are part of the clinic “You can live without addictions”, at the graduation ceremony they successfully presented the work “Cúcara y Mácara”, written by Óscar Liera.

Marsol Quiñónez Castro, General Director of the Municipal Instituto de Cultura, Turismo y Arte de Mazatlan, was present at the protocol event, where she congratulated the work of the theater teacher, as well as the quality work that his students showed.
“I think it is very important to bring culture to these types of centers, to awaken that sensitivity in the people who are here … I think it will be very beneficial for them when they return to readjust to society to bring this knowledge, this approach to art and the culture, ” she said.

Gomez Polo admitted that the group of eight members has worked hard in the last four months. In addition to stage setting, he highlighted the creativity they showed when setting up the scenery, creating the costumes, above all, the passion shown by each one involved.

“Art is the correction of nature and the human being can be transformed through art because it touches very deep fibers that make true changes in you, you understand life differently, it is important, above all, in a center of social rehabilitation, to offer them this kind of opportunities of artistic expression, which may change their concept of life, ” he said.

With the support of the criminal authorities and the students, the group will continue with the classes in the next few days in order to mount more stages of this type, motivating the personal improvement of those involved.
