On this cold December night, the recital “Plumbago: Mexican Romance” warmed the hearts of the attendees who gathered at Casa Haas to hear the voices of Mario Canela and Luisa Mordel.

Pianist Juan Pablo García accompanied the singers in the making of an exquisite bouquet of classic songs: “A la orilla de un palmar”, “Besos robados”, “Te quiero, dijiste”, “Despedida”, “Estrellita” and “Dime que sí” among others.

In this way, the public had the opportunity to review the rich tradition of romantic music that Mexico has forged through great composers such as María Grever, Manuel M. Ponce, Jorge del Moral or Alfonso Esparza Oteo.

In addition to impeccable and full of sentiment interpretations, “Plumbago: Romance Mexicano” showed the great effort that the artists made to offer a different experience: an attractive set design, rich lighting and short verses between songs that served as a common thread in this exciting concert.
