With the presentation of the Opera “Pitentzin” as a world premiere, the Ensamble Noodus Company will be presented for free this Friday at the majestic Angela Peralta Theater, thanks to the activities that make up the 2019 Mazatlan Cultural Festival, which is promote td by the Instituto Municipal de Cultura, Turismo y Arte.
It will be at 8 pm when the curtain is raised inside the building where the concert composed of two important works of the second half of the twentieth century, Requiem Canticles, consisting of Prelude, Interlude and Postlude, by Igor Stravinsky, and Five , by John Cage, four works dedicated to the Ensamble Nodus of Mexican composers.
The work consists of a woman with four personalities, represented by the same character that lives in different times and spaces in Mexico, these linked by a condition that prevents her from reaching a longing.
Each scene tells the life of the characters, the life of the last character, being a child, which amalgams to a single condition: the search for longing. Curiously, a child, Pitentzin, is the origin of this search. Maybe if the other three characters had had the awareness that the little one possesses they could have reached their longing, maybe.
The opera is directed by its creator Eduardo Caballero Treviño; while the soprano is Edith Alejandra Delgado.
Tickets are available at the ticket office of the Angela Peralta Theater during office hours from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
